We like to refer to our City as “the City in the Country”, offering many amenities to our residents and visitors alike. The name of the City comes from “Pee-wauk-ee-wee-nick”, meaning “lake of shells” in Potawatomi.
Pewaukee is known as a fisherman’s paradise, providing the best muskie fishing in southeastern Wisconsin. The lake also offers plenty of activities no matter the season with water skiing, fishing, swimming and boating in the summer to ice fishing and skating in winter.
